PHWD Website — Items Needing District Input

Pre-launch checklist · prepared by RoverPass · updated July 8, 2026

The new website (phwd-website.pages.dev) is built and all of the technical/SEO issues that could be fixed in code have been fixed. The items below are the ones only the District can confirm or provide — official text, real account IDs, addresses, and profile claims — before the site goes live at phwd.net. Grouped by what they are; the tag shows urgency.

1 Official text to provide verbatim — legal/policy

These currently show working-draft or placeholder text on the live preview and must be replaced with the District's official wording.

Rules & Regulations (the full 34-item list) Critical
Appears on all 9 park pages and the /rules page as an unverified "working draft." Publishing rules (alcohol, weapons, watercraft, drones) as a draft on a government site is a liability. Needs the exact official text + sign-off.
Cancellation / refund policy Critical
The FAQ answer for refunds is a literal placeholder right now (visible to visitors and AI search). Needs the District's real policy language.
About page: Board of Directors + public notices High
The About page has a placeholder for board members, meeting schedule, and links to agendas/minutes/notices — standard content the public expects from a state agency.
Legal pages review (Privacy, Cookie, Terms, Accessibility) High
Drafted for you and tailored to how the site works, but as a state agency these must be reviewed by PHWD counsel before launch.

2 Facts to confirm quick yes/no or a correction

We used the District's current published info; these specific points need a confirm or fix.

Flint Creek water park name: "Watertown USA" or "Splash of Fun"? High
The page uses both names in different sections. Which is current? We'll make it consistent everywhere.
Flint Creek: 4th campground's official name + how tent sites are handled Confirm
Placeholder notes for the new/4th campground and whether tent sites are first-come or reservable.
Big Creek street address High
Currently a placeholder ("2 Big Creek Water Park") — needs the real mailing/physical address (feeds schema + future Google Business Profile).
Kemper Lake street address High
No street address on file — needs one (or confirmation it's a rural, no-street-address location).
Dry Creek reservations phone Confirm
We show 601-402-4136 per the current site; confirm that's the right campsite line (vs the office 601-797-4619).
Kemper Lake phone Confirm
We used 601-743-5505; the old site also lists 601-928-3051 (which is the Flint Creek office) — confirm the correct number.
Archusa camping rates Confirm
Both inland and waterfront show $25 + tax, lower than the other parks ($38–$43). Confirm — possibly a current lake-closure discount.
Okatibbee address & Dunn's Falls details Confirm
Okatibbee address (9283 Pine Springs Rd, Meridian 39305) and Dunn's Falls being day-use + primitive camping + one cabin, county = Lauderdale.

3 Accounts & setup District / marketing ops

These live in external systems the District controls; the site is ready to consume them.

Google Analytics 4 + Google Tag Manager IDs High
Placeholders right now, so no analytics are collected. Provide the real IDs (or have us create the properties) and we'll drop them in Site Settings.
Claim + set up the 9 Google Business Profiles High
The single biggest lever for showing up in local "campgrounds near me" searches and Google Maps. Each park needs a claimed, categorized, photo-filled profile. Only one park currently shows any Google reviews.
RoverPass online booking per park High
None of the 9 parks are set up for online reservations on RoverPass yet — the listings are unclaimed directory pages. Once each is claimed + configured, we wire the real roverpass.com/c/<park> "Book Online" links into the site.
Real photography (and any park walkthrough videos) Ongoing
Park hero/gallery photos are being added in the CMS. Walkthrough videos (you have some on YouTube) let us add rich video results per park.

4 Launch sequence at cutover to phwd.net

DNS cutover + unpublish the old Google Sites Critical
Point phwd.net at the new site, ship the 301 redirects, then unpublish the old sites.google.com/phwd.net pages (they can't be redirected, so they must be removed to avoid duplicate content).
Remove the preview "noindex" Critical
The preview is intentionally hidden from Google. This one flag must be removed at launch or the live site stays out of search. (Dev task — flagged here so it isn't forgotten.)
